How we do what we do
So, you're thinking about compeleting one of our contact forms and would like to know what happens next?
We Contact You
Using the information that you provide on the contact form we will assess your requirements and then contact you to discuss.
Initial Survey - Site Visit
The purpose of this visit is to obtain enough information to be able to provide you with a proposal and quotation. We will talk to you about what you want to achieve, establish if planning permission is required, look at your current energy use, take photographs and measurements and consider what renewable energy system is right for you. In general this visit will take around 1 to 1.5 hours.
Proposal and Quotation
We will provide you with a proposal which will include a description of the proposed system, how much power it will generate and the total cost.
Acceptance
If you are happy to proceed, just let us know and we will arrange a further site visit for installation purposes which will be conducted by one of our project managers.
Planning
In England installation of a Solar PV or Solar Thermal system is considered permitted development and therefore planning permission is not required. This does not apply if your property is listed, or situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Conservation area or World Heritage Site. If this is the case for your property you will need to apply for planning permission and have planning approval before installation can take place.
Grants
Once you have accepted our proposal you can apply for the LCBP grant if applicable. We will be happy to help you with this process which can be completed online.
Second Site Visit
This is a more in-depth survey which will take into consideration a health and safety assessment for the installation team, determine exactly where the panels will go and consider roof condition, electrical requirements, access, parking, storage of materials and all practical aspects in preparation for the installation.
Installation
If your system is roof mounted then scaffolding will need to be erected prior to installation. We will arrange this unless you have a preferred supplier. Installations usually take around 3 days, though it can be longer depending on the size and complexity of the system or site. A Naturalwatt project manager will oversee the whole process and will be available to answer any questions you may have. In general an installation will involve electricians and roofers. You should allow approximately 2 weeks for the whole installation process. Our aim throughout is to keep any disruption to a minimum. Take a look at the case studies in our document library, for more details.
Ongoing Support
We will continue to monitor your system to ensure that your system continues to operate at maximum efficiency at all times.
Terms of Payment
A deposit of 25% is payable when you accept our quotation. A further 65% is payable upon delivery of equipment to site and the final 10% upon completion. You may cancel up to one week prior to the date the goods are to be delivered and you will be advised in advance of the delivery date. Your deposit will then be returned in full.
